If you have a fundraising idea please post it on here – get creative and think of ways we can raise money to support Thrive, the more ideas we have the more money we can raise.
Whatever you come up with, the easiest way to collect sponsorship monies and promote your activity is to set up a Virgin Giving page, which you can then keep for life – you just add activity pages as you create new fundraising events and direct the sponsorship money to the charity of your choice (hopefully Thrive everytime !!) for more info see: Virgin Giving
Once you have this set up, you can email the link/web address to all your: family, friends, neighbors, relatives, pub club workmates etc and use it on any literature or promotional gear you may use, also on any advertising material you have.
The other HUGE advantage of doing things this way is that GIFT AID can be automatically claimed for each donation (this is done by Virgin Giving) which means that for every £1 you raise HMRC (the taxman) will donate 25p (Tot £1.25)…that’s £2.50 per £10 raised (Tot £12.50) and £25 per £100 raised (Tot £125) …now.. who on earth would want to miss out on getting the extra cash ??!!!

Jamie Sherwood, the manager at my gym has said he will run a marathon with me if he can get sponsorhip of £1000 to do it – so we need to find a way of raising £1000 for Jamie!
The olympic torch will be visiting Cardiff (late) on Friday 25th and (early) Saturday 26th May 2012…..we need to keep this day free for an Olympic Run……WITH OR WITHOUT THE TORCH!!!!!!!……( i can always make a paper mache version)..:)
well hopefully I will get to run with the real one, but if I dont then yew we will have an Olympic Torch run – i’ll probably get teh 3:00 am slot knowing my luck!)
